The World Reimagined Leicester Finale

Since August the city has been host to the national art project designed to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans and its impact on all of us. The series of stunning globe sculptures designed by artists marked points around the city focusing on a Journey of Discovery. The globes now stand united outside the Leicester Museum and Art Gallery, giving visitors the last opportunity to see them all in one location.

Between 12noon-1pm there will be a gathering in the Victorian Gallery with refreshments, performances and key speakers. The event is open to the public but we would love you to join us specifically for this hour to mark the end of the event.

If you then choose to stay for the rest of the day there will be an opportunity for all ages to be involved with a series of workshops and drop in activities including a chance to create your own globe, dance, steel pan and poetry workshops and discussions around black mental health.
